Total War: WARHAMMER, developed by CREATIVE ASSEMBLY, is a fantasy strategy game that merges turn-based empire-building with explosive, real-time battles. Set in the richly detailed Old World of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, it introduces five unique factions—Bretonnia, the Empire, the Dwarfs, the Vampire Counts, and the Greenskins—each with distinct playstyles, units, and Legendary Lords. As the first Total War game to feature a fantasy setting, it offers a massive sandbox campaign and dynamic tactical depth, including the use of powerful Winds of Magic and monstrous flying units.

The Old World Campaign

The game’s campaign lets players conquer a vast, twisted magical landscape teeming with iconic Warhammer locations and creatures. The sandbox map provides freedom to expand empires through diplomacy, battle, and unique faction mechanics. Each Legendary Lord has a narrative-driven quest chain, unlocking powerful weapons, armor, and mounts to shape the course of their faction's destiny.

Legendary Units and Magic

Battlefields come alive with dragons, giants, and cavalry, while magic introduces new tactical layers.
