Phantom Blade Zero Release Date

The game Phantom Blade Zero will be officially made available on October 29, 2026 in most parts of the world and on October 28 for USA and selected regions because the companies are handling release time regionally. Initially the game was planned to be released on September 9 2026 but in the month of June 2026, S-GAME put forward the news of postponing its release to allow them to finish a small final refinement, among others, of character models, environment, and other minor aspects that will ensure that players not using ray tracing still get to enjoy the visual quality of the game.
On August 11, 2026 they announced the availability of pre-orders and simultaneously gave a glimpse of the gameplay of two levels lasting about 11 minutes each through a new trailer. This short video took the internet by storm and received 8 million views on Bilibili within a day, putting Phantom Blade Zero at the top spot on Steam's world top-seller ranking. State of play on August 17, 2026 was a lengthy and thorough video showing gameplay combat, new features and new characters. But this event did not change the game's original planned release date.
Phantom Blade Zero Editions and Pricing
There are two digital editions available for pre-order.
Feature | Standard Edition | Digital Deluxe |
Price | ✔ | ✔ |
Full Base Game | ✔ | ✔ |
Pre-Order Bonus: Treasure Basin (Accessory) | ✔ | ✔ |
Pre-Order Bonus: Legacy (Outfit) | ✔ | ✔ |
Wulin Legend Outfit | ❌ | ✔ |
Blood-Steel Form Outfit | ❌ | ✔ |
Digital Artbook | ❌ | ✔ |
Digital Soundtrack | ❌ | ✔ |
In Standard Edition, everything is there starting from the base game with Phantom Blade Zero launch contents such as complete gameplay system, weapons, and story. Digital Deluxe Edition has everything Standard Edition has and adds exclusive outfits, a digital artbook plus the digital soundtrack to Standard Edition. The extra $10 that you pay gets you purely cosmetic and digital enhancements with no gameplay-related content.
What Is Included in the Pre-Order Bonus?
Treasure Basin
An accessory that increases the drop rate of Remnant Dust by 10%. This is a genuine gameplay-related bonus rather than a purely cosmetic one, though the effect is fairly modest. It can be also earned later through normal in-game progression.
Legacy Outfit
A cosmetic outfit for the protagonist. Like the Treasure Basin, it can be unlocked later through normal progression.
Since both of these items can be earned later through normal progression of the game, pre-ordering doesn't lock unique content behind a purchase — it simply lets you access them sooner than players who didn't pre-order and have to wait.
Is the Digital Deluxe Edition Worth It?
Since neither edition affects the actual gameplay you get access to, the decision mostly comes down to whether the two extra outfits, the digital artbook, and the soundtrack are worth the extra $10 to you. If you're only here for the combat and story, the Standard Edition covers everything you need. If you like collecting extra cosmetics and digital media alongside your games, the Deluxe Edition is a fairly affordable way to get that.

Supported Platforms
Phantom Blade Zero will be available on PlayStation 5 and computer via Steam and the Epic Games Store. There's a 12-month console exclusivity agreement in place for PS5, meaning the game won't come to Xbox until at least October 2027. Only PC users are free from these limitations and will enjoy the complete edition right from the first launch on both platforms.
Is There a Physical Edition?
This is one of the more talked-about open questions surrounding the game right now. As of publishing, S-GAME has not officially confirmed a physical edition of Phantom Blade Zero. A few details have fueled fan concern about this: the game's official promotional trailer shows a PS5 Digital Edition console rather than the disc-drive model, and unlike some other temporary PS5 exclusives that clearly confirmed a disc release alongside their announcement, Phantom Blade Zero's official PlayStation Blog post makes no mention of one.
The August 17 State of Play didn't give any more explanations, there was no information about the physical editions and the Xbox release from the game. Still, one leading Asian game retailer, Play-Asia, is reportedly showing the list of physical pre-orders on its retail website which indicates a disc release without an official announcement could still be forthcoming. Of course, if you prefer the tangible copy, it might even be better to just wait for an official confirmation and avoid a digital pre-order.
What's New from the State of Play
Beyond confirming pricing and pre-order details, the dedicated State of Play gave a deeper look at what to expect from the game itself:
30+ Blades and 25 Phantom Edges
There are 30+ Blades and 25 Phantom Edges confirmed weapons, giving players a wide pool of combat tools to mix and match. Defeating certain enemies also lets Soul acquire their weapons and signature techniques.
4 Difficulty Modes
Wayfarer (story-focused), Pathbreaker (standard), Hellwalker (adaptive enemy AI), and 66 Days, the hardest mode, which ties directly into the story's premise by giving Soul a 66-day life counter where each death costs a day.
DualSense Support
DualSense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback tuned specifically to combat, along with 3D audio support.
No Game Demo for now
No demo has been officially confirmed, despite a leaked PlayStation Store listing and ongoing fan speculation.
Donnie Yen
Donnie Yen's involvement confirmed in detail, the famous martial artist and actor has served as Creative Consultant on the game since 2023 and provided motion and facial capture for Mó Yuan, the father of the protagonist.
Conclusion
Phantom Blade Zero's pre-order offering is straightforward: two editions split purely by cosmetic and digital extras, and a modest early-unlock bonus that everyone will eventually get anyway through normal play. The biggest open question isn't about the editions themselves but whether a physical release is coming at all, something S-GAME has yet to confirm even after its dedicated State of Play.
